I am currently adjusting and reworking my web site for the coming school year and my new position. I will keep the old posts and pictures for parents and students. I am just reworking the navigation for staff and student use during the coming year. The site will be a work in progress.
There is an iPad Camp running from July 8 to 12 at Westwood from 9-12 each day. It costs $100 but all proceeds go towards funding 1 to 1 iPads in 3rd through 5th grade. Teachers and support staff throughout the building our volunteering their time for the camp. Please pass the word on to anyone in the community who might be interested.
Student who completes grades 2-5 are welcome to attend.
Note: All registrations will be matched due to a generous donation from a community member.
I wanted to send you a personal note of thank you. I have received so many kind words, gifts, and help from so many of you this year. I have been genuinely proud to have taught your children this year. If there is anything I can do to assist in the future, please contact me. I do check my email from time to time over the summer.
Your child has an RAZ Kids account and Moby Max account. Please take advantage of these. RAZ Kids is a wonderful resource for reading practice. Moby Max is fantastic for math but is also adding more subject areas. I would suggest that you please have your child log into the math portion as often as possible for extra practice. I will be checking up on it from home as well in case their account needs any updates.
Also, I did let the students know that I accepted a new position in the West Geauga Local Schools for next year. I will be changing positions and will be the Technology Integration Specialist. With this new position, I will have the chance to work at all four buildings with our amazing staff to help with their efforts to integrate technology for student learning. After having this class, it was a very hard decision but it’s a challenge that I am very excited about. It will also give me an opportunity to see them well beyond their time at Westwood. I wanted them to hear it from me so that they weren’t shocked next year. I also felt it would be helpful for them to have a chance to ask me questions.
In closing, I truly wanted to thank you for raising such wonderful children. I truly valued my time with them. This year went so fast for me. I hope they had the same experience.
Have a great summer,
I wanted to write you a quick note to thank you for giving me an amazing year! You made it fun to come to school every day. I hope you remember that learning can be fun and that it is worth trying your best, even when it is not easy. I have enjoyed watching each of you grow!
Over the summer, I want you to have tons of fun. Please take some time to enjoy reading and to practice all of your math facts. They will make next year so much easier. I have included a math and reading packet for some summer practice. Please try to do these to keep your skills sharp!
This year, so many have you have given me pictures, cards, gifts and kind words. I want you to know that everything has meant so much to me. You have made me smile each day. I was always to happy to come to work so I could see you.
Thank you for being such a nice class. I talked to you this year about the impression you leave and how important that is. Remember to treat everyone with respect and to try and make friends whenever you can. I was so proud of the way so many of you would volunteer to let someone join a partner activity so that they wouldn’t be left out. It is always important to think of others because they will value your friendship!
Have a great summer! I will see you next year!
Your third grade teacher,
